Since the current description is wrong, you can easily confuse this kit for something it's not. I assumed it was two runners worth of 3mm pegged caps, since that's what the product images indicate.
In reality, all of the caps are completely flat on the back side and you use the included sheets of pre-cut double-sided tape to overlay the back side of the runner pieces, enabling you to place these pieces on anything, let alone models.
On the plus side, you can put these on your monitor, phone case, your neighbor's car or decorate the front of a steering wheel to turn it into a plastic bit claymore when the airbag goes off (finally we have the male equivalent to rhinestone decorations!).
On the minus side, it's kind of dumb, since you could've just used plastic glue and the double-sided tape doesn't make them reusable anyway. Rather it makes them easily removable. Once. Maybe twice.
Considering that the 30ML line is missing end caps to cover up all of those 30MM, MF and MS 3mm holes everywhere, this kit ends up being a double disappointment, since even the product images don't give you a good enough sense of what these are for, as well as not being a particularly logical product in the face of what hobbyists need.
Anyone who wanted flat ends, could've just snipped off the peg and glued on the greeble onto a surface.
I've tried a couple of methods to salvage the kit and it's not great.
They're too thin to drill into, so your only method of salvaging these, if you want to use them with pegs, is to cut lengths of 3mm sprue and glue them onto the backside. Since it's hard to cut pegs perfectly flat and line up with the center, this quickly becomes a huge hassle, making the alternative of just gluing in the peg and sanding the surface, a simpler prospect.
I don't feel like I can justify Bandai's intent here, regardless of unfortunate mistakes and my own misunderstanding.
This is not a well thought out product, even if they did put effort into making sure you can't mess up the tape alignment.
Bottom line - If you want to "decorate" your models with these, glue them on. If you're not interested in a permanent solution, the tape isn't the way to go either, so I'd avoid this kit altogether. Missed opportunity, it's a shame.
